It's time to start your child's adventures
Your Child’s development is our utmost goal. We take students into the following classes.
Pre-Nursery (ages 2 to 3)
The Einstein School offers a Pre-Nursery Unit specifically designed for children from the age of 2 to 3 years. Within this group, we ensure that each individual is learning through high quality play that is tailored to them, so they develop at their own pace, having fun, making friends and learning as they play. This will help in ensuring that the children become confident, secure, and boost their self esteem. Not pushed, not pressured, but ready to reach their potential. For children where English is not their first language, this is an ideal learning environment for effortless assimilation of the English language. The Pre-Nursery Unit provides a bridge between home and school. Our aim is to contribute to children’s development in all the six learning areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage, which requires constant communication between parents, the school and the teachers.
Nursery ages (3 to 4)
The classes for three to five year olds provide a stimulating and creative environment where young children may experience a wide range of activities which lead into the primary class of our Curriculum. These two years are very important as they form the basis of a child’s future education. At The Einstein School we follow the requirements set out in the Desirable Outcomes for Children’s Learning (i.e. 6 goals for children’s learning within the Early Years setting): Communication, Language and Literacy Covers important aspects of language development and provides the foundation for literacy. Children are helped to acquire competence in English as soon as possible. Particular emphasis is laid on speaking and listening and in pre-reading and pre-writing activities. The phonic letter sounds are taught in the Pre Nursery and the Nursery classes while the Alphabet letter names are introduced in the nursery and Reception class with emphasis on reading 2 to 4 lettered words. The phonic Curriculum is a highly structured approach in which letter sounds are taught in rapid succession, following a clearly defined teaching sequence. This is highly effective for the majority of children who learn new phonemes quickly and soon progress to blending sounds for reading, and segmenting sounds for writing.
The Primary School covers children aged 5-12 years old from year 1- 6. Teachers provide stimulating activities to build up confidence and harness their natural curiosity. Children thereby achieve high levels of knowledge, skills and understanding while enjoying the learning process. Our aim is for children to enjoy their time at school and to develop knowledge, understanding and values in order to reach their full potential in all academic and social areas of school life. The work of each year group is guided by the appropriate level of the British and Nigerian Curriculum, which is by nature integrated and balanced. Subject areas include: English Language(composition, phonics, grammar, comprehension and spelling, Mathematics(Geometry, mental math and mechanical math), Science, French, Geography, History, Creative arts and Craft, Physical Education, Health Education, general knowledge, music, Civic education, Home economics and Information and Communication Technology. In English language we aim to provide a rich and stimulating environment in which children find interest and pleasure in communicating in English. They are offered many experiences to develop their interest in reading. The development of handwriting skills forms an important part of Language and Literacy. The children’s reading skills are developed in a structured way using highly developed and In mathematics, the children will have opportunities for lots of practical activities and discussions to ensure that they have thorough understanding of all aspects of numbers.
